The LokoFyre Interactive Film Festival is a new and innovative approach to the film festival market. What makes the concept so unique is that it takes place online. This allows all the contestant filmmakers to screen to a larger demographic that cannot come to a theatre to participate. In addition, people from all over the world can view the films from the comfort of their homes. The festival would be streamed out digitally in real time. As it streams live, people interactively can participate in online discussions. We will also implement a video chat room so people can discuss films before, during, and after films are being played. The filmmakers and cast can talk to the viewers as the film is being screened, and do video question and answers. The film festival will be streamed live on social media platforms, but will also be streamed live on a website designed for the film festival. After the films are screened live, a link will be generated so the film can be viewed at anytime. This gives the filmmakers a place for their films to been seen by a larger number of people, than if they entered a conventional festival. An application will be designed to be able to be more streamlined for smart phones and smart TVs. This is another form of exposure for the filmmakers. The service will be similar to a streaming service such as Netflix or Hulu. The entry fee to enter the festival will be $75 for feature and $40 for a short film. This includes the live screening, interactive portion, and continued viewership on the streaming platforms. The judges of the festival will be top industry professionals. The winners of the festival will get awards, trophies, medals, and certificates. And top rated films receive prizes to be determined. Every film will be screened at the festival online, but only certain films will be nominated award winners. The top 10 features and short films will be screened at a theater in Dallas, most likely the historic Texas Theatre. Date TBD. A distributor can request any films selected for distribution, to be removed from the databases once it has been signed. The website and streaming service will be a database for distributors to select and view independent films. After multiple festivals, there will be a library of films for any consumer of independent art to enjoy. The idea is to allow filmmakers from anywhere to participate. This festival gives them a chance to not only be seen by viewers all over the world, but also distribution companies. Being a world leaning more to going online and interactive, this festival concept allows the viewers and filmmakers to be more immersed in the amount of happenings before, during, and after screenings. Location is no longer an issue. Anyone can participate from nearly anywhere. This is the age of LokoFyre.
