Loin Loom Weaving- Arunachal Pradesh
The cultural diversity in India is seen in its rich talent of handloomed textiles. Each Indian State is distinctive. The North East State of Arunachal Pradesh is endowed with a latent talent known as Loin Loom weaving - a traditional home based weaving by women. The 26 major tribes and more than 150 sub tribes of Arunachal weave their own distinct designs, patterns and colours through loin loom. This documentary traces this unique skill and highlights the inspiring journey of the First Lady of Arunachal Pradesh - Ms. Neelam Misra in ensuring this local tradition goes global and takes the fashion world by storm.
