Local Matters!
“Local Matters!” is an engaging comedy-drama set in the fictional town of Dartham. The phrase “local matters!” holds different meanings for different characters. For Sarah Ramsey, it is her rallying cry. For George Nugg, MP, local matters are a constant source of irritation.
The drama unfolds with a medical emergency, courtroom revelations, scathing local newspaper attacks on George Nugg, and the spirited challenge of Sarah Ramsey as the “Save Dartham Hospital” candidate in the General Election. These events breathe life into what is normally a dull, uneventful formality: the re-election of George Nugg as MP for Dartham. This heartwarming and humour-filled story of a young woman’s battle with her MP is an inspiring testament to the power of love-fueled resilience.

I am originally from South West London and have lived there most of my life, apart from three years teaching English in Spain (Barcelona and Galicia) and the last ten years living in South Devon.
I have mostly worked as a surveyor and teacher (construction and English) and have travelled extensively in Europe, Asia, the USA, and Latin America. I have only recently become involved in filmmaking, with acting roles in locally made films and as co-producer of “The Invisible Storm” (https://filmfreeway.com/TheInvisibleStorm).
I am keenly interested in observing people, their interactions, and their motives. I enjoy writing about substantial topics that most writers shy away from, and I like to present them in a humorous and entertaining manner. “Local Matters!” is my first foray into creative writing, a piece that I hope will both entertain and provoke thought.
