With this film, I wanted to tell a story that was honest. Build a character and a world that I could relate to, and everyone that watches it.
When I read John Updike’s short story A & P I knew I had found that.
As I developed Will’s story more, I fell deeper and deeper in love with it. There are pieces of me in so many elements of this story. I’m so extremely proud of this project. I’m so proud of all the hard work that was put into it and myself for choosing to direct this film. Local Hero will always hold a special place in my heart and I thank everyone for all they did to make it happen.
