Cameron Savage known professionally as Cameron Lee Horace is a writer/director. His documentary short 'Aspectrum - What is Autism to Me?' broadcast on Together TV, the channel for social change in December 2019 and was official selection at Barnes Film Festival and screened at Perth Festival Australia in 2021. Cameron later graduated with a First Class Honours degree from Coventry University in 2021.
Living as Leo is very much a story of me growing up. I wasn't in care and didn't have a pet dog but Leo is the on screen representation of the struggles and lonely experiences I had as a high schooler, as an autistic teenager with very little social skills. I teamed up again with my good friend and talented young actor, Joe Snape to bring this character to life. Living as Leo is a tiny micro short film that we shot in between filming The Other Woman short that was selected at the Fastnet Film Festival in 2023. We were initially put off submitting to festivals after we made it by the sound quality issues in relation to our more recent produced works but the story is so close to my heart that we thought why not.
I shot this film when I was an undergraduate student at Coventry University in 2021 but finished editing and publishing it as a student on MA Film & TV at Falmouth University.
