A celebration of culture and a beacon of hope for reclamation of personal identity, heritage and culture. That’s the goal of Living Weaving. This documentary is an important story to tell, and it’s crucial for me. As my filmography builds, I have noticed there is a lot of darkness in my journey of reclamation. I have found that the scripted stories I tell tend to be about grief and loss, and this documentary is a pushback to those narratives and a return to balance. This documentary is a breath of light on my soul. I want the audience to view this film and feel good at the end of it. It’s not about forcing a perspective; it’s about holding the audience's hand and saying to them, “Everything's okay; we’ll get through this together.” As a human collective, I believe in this film's ability to calm and nurture our hearts and minds.
