While Academics for Peace have been through very harsh times in and out of Turkey, those hardships only motivated them to form, and unite in solidarity for their struggle for the truth and peace.

In addition to her Computer Engineering degree, she has a bachelor’s degree and master degree from Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Finearts, Departmant of Movie Designing. Şen, has been studying and making documentary movies for eleven years. Solidariy, struggle, pressure and freedoom are the main ideas of her work. She implies these frameworks into contradictive and conflictive human relations. Her last documetary, Living In Truth is based on revealing the diverse stories of ‘’Academics for Peace’’, who signed the petition titled ‘’We will not be a part of this Crime’’. Her documetaries have been admitted to many festivals. Şen’s documentary about security policies and police severity Metropolis (2013) has been rewarded in Sinepark Movie Festival.
Her other skills are mothering and organizing campaigns. She is the mother of Öykü Arin. Öykü Arin is diagnosed with leukemia when whe was 3 years old. She organized campaign “Öykü Arin’e Umut Ol” for stem cell donation. More than three hundred thousand people donated stem cells, not just for Arin, but for everyone in need.
Eylem Şen is a part of social struggle, struggle for women’s rights and the oppressed people’s rights. She has signed the petition of the initiative Filmmakers for Peace. Her various documentaries were screened in domestic and international film festivals. She is a human rights activist and an independent director. She is struggling and filming for equality and freedom.

Izmir, which has grown through migration from different geographies around it throughout its history, now includes 150,000 Syrian refugees fleeing the war that began in Syria in 2011. The struggle for survival of the Syrian refugees in urban life is accompanied not only by their experiences of exclusion but also by their unique solidarity relations with the people of Izmir. Solidarity Beyond the Longest Border, offers a cross-section of these solidarity practices and offers a walk through against xenophobia.

The documentary is about Roma neighborhood in Örnekköy, İzmir. The film deals with the problems faced by residents of neighborhoods that are about to collapse due to urban transformation.
Sleep of The Oranges (Bir Varmış Bir Yokmuş, 2015)

The documentary is shooted in two countries, Tukey and Armenia. It is about the history of Vakıflıköy, in Hatay that is the last Armenian village in Turkey. With the deportation law passed in 1915, the Musadagh Armenians were forced to leave their homes to Aleppo, and from there to their final destinations of exile. Taking refuge in the mountains surrounding their villages in order to escape the fatal results of deportation, they created an unexpected resistance. They then passed the memories of this honorable struggle from generation to generation. Hasmig Martiryan is one of the young women who grew up listening to these memories, dreaming to see Musadagh herself. The story is about an Armenian young woman, Hasmig, whose grandparents had been deported in 1915 in Turkey, visiting Turkey after a century.

The documentary is awarded with the grand prize in the Movie Contest of Kızılay İstanbul Branch as Documentary - Having A Break for Goodness.
Barefoot Illumination (Çıplak Ayaklı Aydınlık, 2013)

The workers of leather , textile and brogan industy have been working under very tough working conditions. therefore they face many occupational illnesses. However these workers having hard time to be identifies illnesses as occupational ones because they work without insurance and legal record. In order to retain the issues, Ass. Prof. Meral Türk ;who is an academic member of Ege University Departman of Community Heath, has performed studies and educational seminars over the workers. These workers also informed other fellow workers about the study. The Documentary of Barefoot Research substanciates the recent studies of Ms. Türk.
