Living Between
Eugenia’s life in Przemyśl could feel like any of us, however her heart and loved ones are left in her motherland- Ukraine. In a town merely 12 kilometers away from the war’s doorstep, Eugenia lives between two worlds- the familiar routines of everyday life and the turmoil of war in her native land. In one she is a mother, grandmother, psychologist and in another, experiencing everyday fears and weaknesses, which became a new reality for millions of people affected by the war. The way to maintain the inner-peace and gather strength for helping people in need is by allowing other feelings and activities into daily life, like acroyoga for Eugenia.
This excerpt gives a more familiar glimpse into the war, where the audience can recognize their everyday lives, but can’t distance themselves from the surrounding difficulties. They can feel it through a juxtaposition of chaos and serenity, war and escapism portrayed through abstract scenes and dialogues that sometimes say too much and sometimes conceal.
