Director Statement

Everything made in 2020-21 seems to have an incidental covid stamp on it. This lead to a moment I conscientiously debated - using Dilly’s funeral video in the film 'Live'. I worked closely and carefully with the family, making sure to get consent from Dilly's family, the funeral directors, and the media provider. However, no one normally films a funeral, it’s never in anyone’s will to be live-streamed. Including it in the film makes it unforgettably relatable and underlines what a completely weird time it was. Dilly’s daughter Sara said that Dilly would have been enchanted by the whole idea of it.
