Dave Suchanek is a commercial, music video, and documentary Producer / Director originally from Michigan - currently based in Los Angeles. Raised in a household free from cable TV or video games, he spent most of his time reading novels, writing stories, and adventuring in the hundreds of acres of forest behind his family’s home. His first films were experiments in stop motion using toys and the family VHS camcorder. In high school, he began playing guitar in bands and learned to produce and record music. Dave later studied English at Michigan State University, specializing in Film Studies, Digital Media Arts & Technology, and writing for the longest-running student-produced sitcom in the nation. He also studied documentary film during a summer-long study abroad in London at UCL and the British Film Institute. Since then, he’s worked in the music business as an A&R rep, spent 6 years producing commercials with the creative department of an advertising agency, served as Executive Assistant to a top tier documentary filmmaker, and now consults advertising agencies and production companies on union-talent commercial shoots around the country. He lives for the creative process and loves collaborating to bring ideas to life.
