Little Princess: Turn On The Taps
Great Aunty introduces Princess to the magic of tap dancing, but how ever will Princess learn to do it herself if she doesn’t want to have lessons?!
Little Princess is a pre-school series for young girls and boys and is based on the best-selling children’s picture books by award-winning author/illustrator Tony Ross.
Little Princess is full of energy, charm and questions about how the world works. As with most little children she has an impressive curiosity and is delightfully stubborn when things don’t go her way. But, however demanding Little Princess gets, no one can stay angry with her for long once she puts on her big smile and tries to make it all better.

Little Princess and I have known each other for many years. As Art Director I helped bring Little Princess to life on our screens. As Director of the latest series, it became my responsibility to convey all the Northern warmth and humour that’s so close to my heart to a new audience.
It was important to me to keep true to the spirit of the show but also update the series to keep it feeling fresh. A new Narrator (Rufus Jones) and the addition of a zany Professor (Robert Webb) to the original household cast has helped give the classic series a re-booted feel.
It was my goal to bring Little Princess’s familiar sense of fun and mischief to the screen, whilst also making time for reflection and some more emotional moments amid the chaos of castle life. I also wanted Little Princess to spend more time with individual members of the household and to be able to explore those unique relationships more fully than before. I hope Little Princess’s cheeky humour and the warmth of all the characters will capture the hearts of a new generation of children.
