Little Archer
Archer is 10. He doesn't understand why people have a problem with the fact that he only speaks to Ira, his dragon friend that only he can see. He also doesn't see what's wrong with wanting to jump off the school roof. Really, people are weird.

Pauline was born in France in 1997. She began writing fiction at the age of 7 and won a prize in an academic short story competition in 2014. She self-published two fantasy novellas by the age of 18 and went on to study a Bachelor's Degree in English and a Master's Degree in Creative Writing at the Open University in London. 'Little Archer' is the first screenplay she's ever written.
'Little Archer' was partly inspired by my own childhood, although the characters, events and settings are invented. I've always been intrigued by stories like 'Pan's Labyrinth' and 'Bridge to Terabithia', where the magical elements only exist in the young protagonist's mind, helping them as they go through difficult life events. I wanted to use that concept to talk about child abuse in a non-stereotypical way, to show the insidious and invisible violence that can creep in any household.
