Anxiety, depression, body dysmorphia and self-doubt. What causes a person to experience these, how do they deteriorate someone’s personality and one’s relationship with another person?

Lithium follows Ox. A young female living through life trying to find happiness living with Ellie. Their relationship begins to sour as Ox pushes herself further and further away. Ellie becomes more confused, and dismissive, not understanding the issues Ox is going through. While Ox, allowing her mind and emotions to take control, cripples into her declining mental stability. Ox realises how lonely she is, and sees Ellie in a new, darker light.
As Ellie leaves one night after a fight. Ox realises her loneliness might take a hold of her before it’s too late.
