Lisah discovered her love of writing for film while working as a Producer's Assistant in 2005, but did not begin her pursuit of writing until 2009 when she was accepted to the 29th Annual Summer Institute of Film And Television in Ottawa, Ontario. The instructor, Canadian screenwriter, Ken Chubb (Gingersnaps), brought in speakers such as Oscar winner Denys Arcand (Jesus of Montreal, The Barbarian Invasions). An experience that gave Lisah immense inspiration. Alas, life gets in the way and she had to shelf her writing pursuits.
Coming back to it much later in 2017, Lisah took a screenwriting refresher course at Camosun College in Victoria. There she wrote a short film called Norman. Upon hearing about a pitch competition called Short Circuit Pacific Film Fest Competition, she entered Norman, and she won the pitch. The prize allowed her to produce and make the short film which was shown the following year at the festival. This experience has pushed her forward to write two feature screenplays, five shorts and A LOT of poetry. All still works in progress and ready for feedback.
Lisah's day job is working in the film industry, she hops between departments. Mainly, Set Dec as an Assistant Decorator, Buyer, and/or Coordinator. Other department is Production Office as an Assistant Prod Office Coordinator.
