Experiencing Interruptions?

Whilst spending a lot of time in the countryside in Lincolnshire, I noticed within beautiful skies, a vast amount of lines: perhaps lines of clouds, birds or plane trails. It then occurred to me that within my life so far, a lot of time seems to be spent unconsciously following lines of all sorts. This includes positive lines like learning, physical and metaphorical pathways, roads and people - whilst also negative lines like expectation, consumerism and power (etc.) Whilst the context of my film is mostly conceptual I wanted to allow myself to create a clear narrative within the work in order to fully experiment with the use of montage to manipulate emotions within the viewer. In order to do this I decided to choose some words from a book that seemed to creatively describe my view of the ‘line of life’ and used these to spark inspiration for the music, the visual elements and the tension levels throughout my film. Prior to beginning filming, I knew that I wanted to compose the film music to accompany my film. This was going to be partly written and partly improvised. The reason for this was so that it would fit with the theme.
