A lo largo de todos los Pirineos se esconden miles de búnkers. Se construyeron después de la Guerra Civil Española para defenderse frente a un posible ataque de las tropas republicanas exiliadas o del ejército de los aliados

Sergi Gómez es un curioso fotógrafo de Barcelona que jugaba cuando era niño a esconderse en los búnkers del pueblo de Camprodon, en Cataluña. A medida que se hizo mayor fue preguntándose sobre la historia de estos misteriosos asentamientos.

La Línea P, abreviatura de ‘Organización Defensiva de los Pirineos’, es la mayor obra militar de fortificación construida en Europa después de la II Guerra Mundial y la mayor obra de ingeniería militar de España. Franco planificó más de 10.000 fortificaciones bajo un estricto secreto.

Hoy en día la mayoría de búnkers están perdidos y abandonados por los bosques. En un viaje a lo largo de todos los Pirineos, acompañaremos a Sergi desde el Camprodón de su infancia hasta el pueblo navarro de Etxalar, donde actualmente reside. Descubriremos algunos de los principales núcleos de resistencia de Cataluña, Aragón y Navarra, y conoceremos a varias personas que nos desvelarán su historia.

The P Line · The Invisible Fortress

Across the Pyrenees there are thousands of hidden bunkers. They were constructed after the Spanish Civil War as a defensive front against a possible attack from the exiled Republican troops, the Allied army or even the Russian army.

The Defensive Organization of the Pyrenees’, or the P Line for short, is the biggest military construction built in Europe after World War II. Franco planned to build more than 10,000 bunkers in strict secret but finally he only built half that amount. They were never armed or used.

Today, most of them are lost and abandoned and few people know about their existence and true purpose. Recently this secret has been declassified and some researchers have begun exploring this extraordinary chapter in Spanish military history.
