Limbo

Limbo is a short film that will attempt to capture a day in the life of a poor young boy named Anton from Malabon who is seemingly stuck in a toxic cycle of finding food and luck.

The highlight of the film is the hypersensitive, almost comical oral narration that will describe Anton's daily expedition — from the time he would usually start it, his realities, his expectations, grumbling stomach, unspoken hopes, and how he would eventually end up in the same exact location where he came from that morning.

It will eventually be revealed that more than food, Anton is just really looking for luck, realizing in his own simple way the role it plays on people's lives.

Director Statement

The philosophical idea of determinism is prevalent in my works, but as I delve deeper into the concept, I find myself questioning the role of luck in its narrative.

Luck is a potent narrative disruptor, beyond our control and bending the course of events. In the film "Limbo," we witness the interplay of determinism, only to be challenged and disrupted by this unpredictable force (Luck)."Limbo" takes us on an adventure with a young boy, fighting to alter his preordained fate, pushing against the boundaries of what's destined.
