Lily Pond
“Lily pond” is a drifting meditative journey over a lily pond, and a slow exploration submerged amongst the stems and the undersides of the lily pads. Carried by the music, the viewer settles into a rhythm of slow breath.

It is the gentle flows and processes of natural environments that inspire me to create. I am always in wonder of our vibrant living world and express what I love: its sensitivities and complexities; the ebbs and flows.
In “Lily Pond” I have created a short journey through all the elements of this world: the veined lily pads on the pond surface, the graceful wavy stems that anchor the pads to the bottom of the murky pond, the view looking up at the underside of the lily pads, the soft motion of caustic lighting, and of course the luminous lily flowers themselves.
I really enjoyed pairing this piece with the music titled “Shimmers” from the Spotted Peccary album Convergence. I was inspired to match a shimmery visual effect to the shimmery moments in the music. Many thanks to the musicians, Deborah Martin, Greg Klamt and Mark Rownd, for allowing me to use their music!
