Lil Mango Lassi: Milpitas Trap Lord

Raj Chandra (aka Lil Mango Lassi) is an Indian "rapper" from Milpitas, a middle class suburb. Along with his friend and hype man, DJ Bank Teller, the two try to sell out a local concert venue, enlisting the help of their schoolmate and "manager," Arnold Chen. Will they succeed? Will Raj's parents get in the way? or will a different scenario occur? Watch this rap mockumentary to find out.

This mockumentary, which was completely improvised aside from the story, is a statement on how Indian-American teenagers often struggle to find an identity in the U.S and tend to act either stereotypically white or stereotypically black (especially the later here in the Bay Area).

Director Statement

I want to give people an alternative perspective and an story that most people have never seen, whether it be in the form of scripted surrealist content, a comedy mockumentary about an Indian rapper from Milpitas, or talking about current events from my perspective. In general, I want to make weird content. You may hate it or love it, but you won't forget it.
