Since 1997, Michael has been a professional dancer (b-boying), competing nationwide and worldwide in various countries such as Japan, France, Italy, Germany, Estonia, Belarus and more. He has produced three feature-length documentaries based on his dance group, Knuckleheads, that encompasses the lifestyle, tours, and events the group has competed in. Within the last ten years, Michael has worked the entertainment industry, appearing in multiple feature films, short films, commercials, and television shows such as “Blood Relatives” and “Devil in the Details” on Investigation Discovery. With a meticulous eye for storytelling, Michael immerses himself into his work to produce material that embodies his passion for cinema. LIKE WOLVES serves as his film directorial debut.
LIKE WOLVES is a story that began as a seed planted by my attendance at my first film festival in 2012. I co-starred and choreographed the stuntwork in Denzel Whitaker's "Operation:CTF" which ran in the "Best Action" category. I was beyond blown away by the flurry of talent and passion that ran deep in that experience, to the point that I was determined to revisit the festival platform with a story of my own. It was in 2018 that my co-star, Gabriel Soria, and I came to a common vision of developing a short based on the complexities of morally challenged characters who live in a world based on actions and consequences. Our main character, Lou, represents action through his loss and remorse for choices he's made. When the story picks up, we are introduced to my character who represents the inevitability of what comes next when we make choices based on the lesser of two evils. Through this conflict, we wanted to layer the story with a physicality based on the grit that comes with the instinct to survive. Through blood, sweat, and tears, our film came together in the course of a number of weeks and we couldn't be more proud of the hard work we all put forth in the project. Our goal is that the audience can feel our passion through the pain our characters endured, and enjoy the physical journey we fought to convey.
