Nostalgia can provide beautiful and warm feelings. When others appear in these memories, a form of collective nostalgia can arise that makes you feel strongly connected to each other. What happens when something does not appear in those nostalgic memories? These thoughts can form a psychological fence, which can exclude everything that doesn’t appear in those memories. Such as different people, cultures and opinions. With my animation ‘Like Us’, I show elements from my own nostalgia, with exaggerated characteristics, to describe my aversion against prejudice caused by collective nostalgia.
