Short films don’t have to be small films. They may be short in length, but they’re huge in ambition...so they need to be seen on the BIG SCREEN.

Light Up Film Festival is back for a third time to give you that opportunity… and a unique chance to chase that next step in your career!

The festival is sponsored by Brisbane production company Radioactive Picture's new events inititative, and the team behind the night’s most popular film will win the chance to participate in an exclusive workshop run by established filmmakers. More details to come.

So make sure to submit your short films - be they dramas, comedies, music videos or even vlogs and Tik Toks - and we’ll see you at Reading Cinemas Newmarket on May 19.

PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARD FOR BEST FILM

Rules & Terms

Films must be suitable for a 16+ audience.
If possible, submit in DCP format. Otherwise, all other file types will be converted to DCP after submission.
Entrants allow for the public screening of their submission, and the online distribution of clips to promote the event.
All entrants will be notified on May 13 if they are successful.
Awards will be based on ballots from the night and announced during the event.
The Slop Shack reserves the right to alter the program.
