Director Statement

In one of the most tragic train accidents of recent times in India, around 296 people lost their lives. Amidst the wreckage, a notebook filled with poignant love poems and delicate hand-made sketches was discovered. These personal artefacts, salvaged from the debris, revealed a deeply intimate world now lost to tragedy.
The discovery of this notebook moved me deeply. It was as if I had stumbled upon a window into the lives and loves of individuals now lost. Each poem and sketch told a story of profound emotion and connection, a testament to the lives that had been so abruptly and cruelly interrupted.
In that moment, I knew I had to give these voices a platform. My decision to create a film based on this tragic event was driven by a desire to honor those who had perished and to explore the themes of love, loss, and resilience that their words and art so vividly expressed. Through this film, I hope to bring their stories to light and offer a reflection on the enduring power of love amidst the darkest times.
