Life is a Journey

Life is a Journey (2019) is a short documentary involving four women different in both, age and culture, who share the same experience on their cultural identity, and the sense of belonging after their migration journey.

In Life is a Journey, the director shares Hala’s story, a war refugee, by reflecting on her own relocation and that of Lisa and Chiara, two women she met on her path.

Life is a Journey has a clear positive message of empowerment, and explores the questions: Is our understanding of cultural identity blind to cultural pluralism? Is it linear-active? Has the controversial mood of cultural protectionism ever been successful? And, is a person’s cultural identity strictly determined by their place of birth?

The answer may definitely not surprise you. It really depends on the viewer.
