Life in Nature
Ulsan, Korea’s largest industrial city with a population of 1.2 million.
Soho Branch school – a small elementary school in Ulju-gun, Ulsan. Surrounded by nature and the Youngnam Alps, Soho Branch School focuses its education around this nature. The students are taught to focus on coexistence with nature rather than never-ending competition. Thus, education changes as the seasons change from spring to winter. As we focus on the student’s school and daily life, high school students struggling to compete for the entrance exams watch the children learning within nature. They live in the same city but lead a different life. It helps us think about where our country’s education stands today.
