Filmmaker graduated from the University of Arts and Communication Sciences, Uniacc. Begins his career working with the most prominent directors of the country: Raul Ruiz, Miguel Littin, working in different areas. Has worked as The First Director Assistance in different Chilean films such as "Dawson Island 10" from Miguel Littin (Chilean representative to the Oscar Academy Awards), " The Illiterates " (Winner of Sanfic 9 as Best Chilean Film and People’s Award) and in " Allende in his Labyrinth " by Miguel Littin. Nowadays he is developing two feature film projects on his own authorship: "Corruption" and " Life Itself", the last one winner of the Audiovisual Fund of Regional Production and Consejo Nacional de Televisión fund.
"Life Itself" speaks about the childhood concept, struggling against an aggressive,
miserable, Inhospitable and even strange to the child soul, a child with desires to be an
adult. But it is not adulthood what Roberto needs, what he needs is to grow and become
a whole person. He needs to learn that the physical and psychological violence he suers
is not the one that will end in his death, but that surrendering to conformism and the lack
of expectations and dreams is what will finally end with his childhood and will make him
one more person, without projections, Without thoughts, in a machine that only
produces money for the overvalued "pleasures" of life (wine, women, etc.).
This fight of David against Golliat is what the film wants to show. It is the struggle
between the poorest peasant children against a remote village context and blinded by the
money from the copper mines. How can a person, in these conditions, even dream of
becoming an adventurer like Simbad, or overcome his limitations until the point of being
a hero like Tom Thumb? How can a small child replete with impetus and loves can fight
the crushing machinery of prostitution, alcohol, neglect and ignorance?
This film is the adventure of this little hero who takes his slingshot and is armed with his
"little stones" to shoot down a giant that destroys souls to the point that they are not
reborn. This movie is "Simply Life, childhood in spite of everything".
