Director Statement

As the new year on January 1, 2018, scandals surrounding the film business swirled like a hurricane. More and people, more and more stories, and soon it was all anyone was talking about.

Now, the controversy has transformed into a full fledged movement and the climate has changed forever. As the issues has grown, I believe our film has grown with them, gaining relevance with every new headline. The issues are serious, but there's no denying the ridiculous nature of these stories, from the gaudy perpetrators, to the hungry media, to the comments sections that litter the web. To me, satire seemed the best weapon, why not make fun of these despicable people, show the utter audacity with which they live their lives, expose the whole lot of them, all the 'Liars & Cheats'.

To keep the energy moving, Liars & Cheats is put together to feel like one continuous take, in real time. This way, the audience is taken behind the scenes to witness how our fickle industry can deal with these matters, see the speed of judgement, and get in the heart of a real public relations disaster.

An original jazz score drives the pace of the film, which is inspired by fast talking comedies 'The Seven Year Itch' to ''The Odd Couple'. Together with rapid fire dialogue, inventive shooting, and lively music, our hope is to set the chaos off and running and never let up until the very last frame.
