Films will be judged by a panel of industry experts and university faculty. Awards will be given in several categories, such as Best Narrative, Best Documentary, Best Actor, Best Cinematography and Audience Choice.

1. Eligibility

LiMFest is open to student filmmakers and independent creators from all backgrounds. Submissions should align with the festival’s mission to celebrate language and culture through film.

2. Submission Guidelines

**Each submission should include English subtitles.**
Films must be original and must not contain any copyrighted material without proper licensing.
Submissions must be primarily in a language other than English.
Submissions should be in one of the following categories: Short Films, Documentaries, Experimental Films, or Animated Films.

3. Duration

Short films should not exceed 15 minutes. Longer films will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

4. Content Restrictions

Films should be suitable for general audiences. Content that is excessively violent, hateful, or inappropriate for public viewing will not be accepted.

5. Screening Rights

By submitting, filmmakers grant LiMFest the right to screen their films during the festival and to use selected clips or images for promotional purposes.

6. Entry Fees

Entry fees are non-refundable. Fee waivers are available for qualifying LSU student filmmakers upon request.

8. Acceptance of Terms

By submitting, entrants agree to comply with all festival rules and terms. Non-compliance may result in disqualification.
