Director Biography - Celina Igwe

After graduating from the Las Vegas Academy of the Arts for Theatre, Celina Igwe attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas for film. She moved to California not long after that to pursue a career as an actress.

During her time in Los Angeles she felt a deepening draw to the creative processes behind the camera, and began writing her own sort stories, poems, plays and films.

After becoming a wife and mother, Celina's creative career only heightened to her surprise. She acted in several theatrical productions throughout Albuquerque, NM and Las Vegas, NV, and after a brief break to study Ministry at Northwest University, she leapt back into the entertainment industry by running
her own performing arts studio in the small town of Fernley, NV and directing various theatrical productions for the entire town and in non-profit organizations.

She began writing more and creating skits and videos for non-profit organizations in Reno, NV. Finally the opportunity for her to write, produce, direct and even edit her first professional film came, and Mosquito was born.

Celina continues to be excited and most grateful that she "get's to" do this for a living. Filmmaking, and being able to use her creatives as her career is a privilege she does not take for granted.
