Experiencing Interruptions?

Let's Beat Fashion

USEE STUDIO, Reykjavík based design studio, presented its thoughts and projects at DesignMarch 2018 (the biggest design week in Iceland) with a music video loaded with rhymes, humor, irony and exaggerations. USEE STUDIO engages in current crisis within fashion industry such as violations of human rights and environmental pollution.

The video and song LETS BEAT FASHION was made in collaboration with the artist and musician Katrín Helga Andrésdóttir, also known as Special-K, and influenced by the industry’s sweatshops.

“You might not sweat in a sweatshop, but you probably work hard and under lousy conditions. In a sweatshop, workers slave away in poor conditions for low pay. Sweatshop workers — who often make clothing — aren't allowed to form unions, so they cannot protest their poor working conditions.”

Alongside the music video USEE STUDIO presented new products inspired by the same topic. The product line included sweatshirts, sweatbands, deodorants and post-cards.

LET'S BEAT FASHION was premiered at Kringlan March 16th, 2018.
