Acoustic soloist LeeJCluskey arrives with a debut album titled ‘Strengthened Virtues’ and paves the way with an acoustic album. Musically a double header is underway, leading the way for a more instrumental studio album with The Miners Band - TMB.
UK acoustic rock’n’roll singer/songwriter LeeJCluskey has the American music dream in sight with a parallel music venture taking place as a band member with The Miners Band and of course the acoustic soloist. He has a catchy set of ballads with faster tempo songs and for sure has to be destined to do well, where he can enjoy the music leading up to the debut single and album in the early 2020’s.
There is a slight 1960’s presence to the style of the musician with a tint of Elvis, Buddy Holly, The Beatles and a guitar playing Roger Daltrey. Similarities can be made to John Fogerty and Bob Dylan without the harmonica. Mixed in with this you can hear the acoustic style of, The Jam, The Smiths, The Stone Roses, Oasis and a Keane type of band. Along with this the acoustic guitarist singer/songwriter brings a complete originality with classic rock’n’roll inspirations as mentioned. LeeJCluskey speaks to the Acoustic Magazine about himself and his music travelling across the Atlantic to the United States.
‘First of all I have to say in this modern age we live in, the music arrives somewhere before the human being anyway, there has been the evolvement of the internet age that has changed the face of music for good. With the websites and radio shows throughout the states you can really connect with the American people as a musician. I like the honest and positive vibe the US has to the point where you can make your dreams happen and that anything is possible mindset is something really great. Over the years I have listened to and read interviews and when the musician or the band travel over from the UK it’s like there going from one country to fifty states, and I think that experience in reality with the touring seems like you’re going from one country to fifty. As much as the internet can promote musicians and bands you can’t beat the true musical experience of touring and really getting out there when playing to the audiences, the fans of your music. It would be good to do what Bruce Springsteen did and tour for the three years and play in every state, I remember hearing about that, total dedication! Maybe I’ll tour for a few years in the states, nice idea to live in America someday.’ He continues. ‘I’ve listened over the years to the music, the interviews and the concept of the musician connecting with the United States and I think in the US the people in general are looking for what can represent them. On this point I would say that I’m a natural kind of songwriter where the words and music can connect on their own accord, this is where a great connection can be made in the USA. Reverbnation and twitter have been great for people in the US listening to the music I have written and recorded, so were up and running, let’s keep making progress!’ Many songs and albums are waiting for the states. I think the EP last year was that land marker required for the musical journey and sound in general leading to a more acoustic sounding debut album titled ‘Strengthened Virtues’ as the musical quest continues!
