Justin Nekrutman broke into the film industry in the late 2010s, first finding work as a background actor before becoming involved in production. In addition to Brook Pridemore's Learned to Play the Drums in 2022, Nekrutman previously (credited under punk rock moniker, Justin Kiddo) directed the music video for Who's Gonna Build My Death Ray? (also by Pridemore) released in 2018.
