Laws Written on My Body
“Laws Written on My Body” (2023) examines views on abortion rights by New York City residents. Inspired by the recent overturning of Roe v. Wade, it contextualizes and explores the effects of anti-abortion laws on women and American democracy. It also contrasts the U.S. case to Colombia, where abortion was recently legalized. This film concludes with a call to action on how everyone can become an activist in support of a woman’s right to abortion. This film was collaboratively made by NYC high school students in Educational Video Center’s flagship afterschool Program, Youth Documentary Workshop.
