Laus

"Laus" is a documentary-narrative film which looks at real events and personal phenomena of artist Zarko Lausevic. "Laus" above all tells a story of an evil time we've all been through, represents both sides and is made with empathy and respect towards everyone involved in the tragic incident. Through recreations, narration, memories of colleagues and quotes from the book "A Year Passes, a Day Will Never Pass" which the artist wrote during the hardest stage of his life, the weight of his fate is presented. The aim of this project is to portray the life of brilliant actor, who in the midst of great fame, disappeared from the scene through the cruelty of dubious times.

Director Biography - Branka Besevic Gajic

Branka Besevic Gajic is an Award-winning Film & TV Director, Creative Producer, Screenwriter, Doctor of Arts, Ph.D. She holds a Master's degree in Drama and Audiovisual arts and have-graduated in the class of professor Goran Pekovic, at Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade and Interdisciplinary Arts Ph.D at University of Arts in Belgrade at Interactive movie of "The Decision". She was born in Pancevo on September 18th, 1982. In 2014 she debuted as director and screenwriter of film "Laus", a film about the life of famous Yugoslav actor Zarko Lausevic. The film features more than twenty major names of Serbian culture. After a successful premiere at Sava Center in Belgade, the film was widely distributed in Serbia as well as in Balkan region, followed by screenings at series of festivals in America, Australia, South Africa, Russia and China, in the cities of Toronto, New York, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Vulagong, Melbourne, Canberra, Peking, Johannesburg, Moscow, where it won numerous awards for directing, artistic contribution and courage of the author.
