Laurina
Nearly a century before the #metoo movement a young Italian girl fights to save herself and her sister from her abusive stepfather. LAURINA is based on a real-life childhood journal written by the two screenwriters’ grandmother which portrays a snapshot of early 20th century Immigrant life in America and the hardships suffered chasing the dream of a better life.

Sylvia is a first generation American filmmaker from a Cuban mother and German-Jewish father the diversity of her family is reflected in the wide range of projects she works on. She won 2 Emmy’s for her unscripted series ("Samantha Brown’s Places To Love" & "Great Hotels") and has directed 2 award winning feature documentaries "Rick Springfield: An Affair of the Heart," and "Tanzania: A Journey Within." She just completed her narrative directorial debut with the thriller, "Follow Her," starring Luke Cook, Mark Moses and Dani Barker. She is also in post-production on the period short, "Laurina," based on a true story.
She began her career producing indie features out of NYC and is actively producing features through her production company, DolGer Films.
