Laura (Laurie) LaMonaco is a highly accomplished actor, writer, producer, and philanthropist with a wealth of experience in the entertainment industry.
Laurie’s acting background began in theater and included productions such as Comedy of Errors, Mousetrap, Miracle on 34th Street, Our Town, and Tony & Tina's Wedding. Her television and movie performances including but not limited to The Neighbors, Night Pulse, and original independent movies, are proof of her acting ability in a variety of genres.
In addition to her acting career, Laurie has a passion for writing novels, children's books, and screenplays. She began writing at a young age and has continued to develop her skills while advancing her acting career. In 2015, she wrote her first feature screenplay and is now involved in various television and film projects as a screenwriter. In 2022, Laurie achieved significant recognition for her short script, Saving Hope from the Roma Prisma Film Awards contest, and in December 2022, Saving Hope was a semi-finalist at the Red Flight Pictures Screen Awards.
In 2018, Laurie founded Malakai Entertainment, a production company that produced the first season of Simply Cooking with Gaetano and contributed to the documentary Black Inventors Got Game as director. In 2021, she founded Fountain Network, a streaming app with the tagline, Where Diversity Has A Voice.
Currently, Laurie is immersed in the dynamic world of film production, spearheading the creation of a poignant and emotionally charged short film titled Silent Tears. Simultaneously, she has landed a significant role in the upcoming movie To Jodie with Love.
