Born in Los Angeles, she currently resides in France when not filming in Ireland. Ms. Hakulinen decided to try her hand with her first film, a documentary, after spending one night at a pub in Sligo Ireland. Having traveled there to see Arlo Guthrie in concert, she credits him for her inspiration along with Sligo's vibrant and diverse music scene.
