Born two days after the Summer Solstice, Laurel Elizabeth Hasara is an arthouse-horror screenwriter, director and Gothic visual artist. Her debut feature film, Lovella, is based on an interracial college romance fueled by dark experimentation and obsession, while her debut novella, The Nobodies: An Unusual Tale of Society’s Least Desirable published in 2021. With a Bachelor’s of Arts in English Literature acquired at The University of Maryland, her current academic focus is Catholic theology. Her debut short film is entitled The Dark Night of Her Soul, a retelling of the spiritual crisis by St. John of the Cross. Miss Hasara’s overarching artistic ambition is to make her life into a living art piece through various literary and visual forms; exquisite nightmares that claw into your subconscious.
