Immigrating with a disability is very difficult. I study what is involved. I tell stories from the perspectives of people with disability. I make visible the work people have to do and the institutional barriers stemming from their condition.
I am an associate professor of sociology at the University of Toronto. I am a person living with disabilities. For my work on behalf of people living with stigmatized illness, disability and genetic otherness, I have received numerous prestigious awards (see website, left).
