Latent Nostalgia
“Latent Nostalgia” is a participatory documentary detailing the lives of various members of Generation Z as they adjust to the post-vaccine “new normal” and cope with the trauma of the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on their lives. A local comedian talks with friends and strangers alike about their experience in lockdown and the effect it had on their mental health, all while joining them to participate in a hobby they held dear through the year.
A self-reflexive experimental doc, “Latent Nostalgia” captures the strange in-between place that contemporary young adults have found themselves in: in between chaos and normal life; in between childhood and adulthood.
