Last Seen

Synopsis
"Last Seen" is an intimate and haunting film that delves into the inner turmoil of Hawwa, a woman in her early thirties grappling with isolation, heartbreak, and existential despair. Returning to her dimly lit apartment, she is surrounded by the echoes of fragmented relationships—her mother’s loving but distant messages, her ex-partner’s tender recollections turned bitter outbursts, and the oppressive silence of her own thoughts.

Through a series of seemingly mundane yet symbolically charged actions—pouring whiskey, listening to voice messages, and struggling with surroundings—Hawwa confronts the crushing weight of her emotions. Her loneliness is amplified by surreal interruptions: faceless figures laughing cruelly behind her and an unsettling interplay of shadows and flickering light. These moments blur the boundary between reality and Hawwa’s disintegrating psyche.

As the night unfolds, Hawwa wrestles with an unspoken force within herself, culminating in a visceral act of self-confrontation. Through striking visual metaphors, the film explores themes of mental health, self-worth, and the fragility of human connection. In a harrowing conclusion, her actions reverberate through the objects and memories she leaves behind, suggesting the universality of her struggle: anyone could be Hawwa.

"Last Seen" is a poignant commentary on the human condition, revealing the thin veil between light and darkness, love and despair, life and death
