Director Statement

In my life, I've had to face the death of loved ones. For a while, I believed that the only way to continue having them close to me, was to think about them constantly. But over the years, oblivion gradually took away the experiences that those people and I had shared together. And with them, it stole a part of myself.

A while ago, I discovered that the fact that those loved ones perdure in my memory, doesn't depend so much on me thinking about them all the time, but rather on me sharing the anecdotes that we lived together, with other persons. It is as if the dead are wandering in a place where time does not pass, waiting for that mention that will make us be together again.

I think that part of the strength of cinema relies on its ability to evoke ghosts and replay scenes of yesteryear as if they were still places to explore. Better yet, bring them back to the present and, through a series of extraordinary events, capable of constructing mysterious and ambiguous situations, endow them with a new, liberating meaning.
