The 4th Annual Lanett City Film Festival seeks to provide an exciting creative platform for filmmakers to have their work screened and judged. Our vision is to encourage filmmakers, both professional and beginning, along the film-making process and catapult them into their full potential.

The screenings will be held in the beautiful and historic town of Lanett, Alabama - just minutes south of Auburn University. New Horizon Community Theater will serve as the main screening venue. Other venues also include Lanett City Hall, and the Jane K Farrar Event Center.

The festival will screen shorts and features, including narratives, documentaries, and more… in both showcase and competition settings. There will be opportunities for filmmakers to interact with the audience as well as other filmmakers. Some of the other fun extras offered to festival-goers include sidewalk boutiques and food trucks throughout downtown Lanett.

Kudos to Eric and the team for a great experience. Was proud to show our film at the festival and hope to submit more in the future. Highly recommend this festival. Had an amazing Q and A with really thoughtful questions and a really warm reception to our documentary.

Eric B. Wright, a fantastic festival host! As an LA based actor, new to the world of filmmaking and festivals, I could not have chosen a better festival to be a part of. Eric hosts a very friendly, creative, and seamless experience using a platform that is adjusting to the days of Covid and online film festivals. The Zoom Q & A’s were great! Eric is a wonderful moderator and was able to get a lot of info out of filmmakers prior to screenings. I highly recommend!

Great festival. I appreciate that Eric reached out to me and we had a Zoom Q & A about my film. This gave me the opportunity to share my journey in filmmaking. Eric asked great questions, I can tell that he cares about independent filmmakers, as he is also one, himself.

Eric Wright’s efforts to transition the 2020 event into an online format were nothing short of Herculean. Wonderful lineup of films, and the Q&A’s were entertaining and educational, both in learning about other filmmakers’ techniques and strategies, and getting a behind the scenes look at how festivals are organized and run. Communication was responsive and comprehensive. We were so honored to exhibit our film Beyond Methuselah at the Lanett City Film Festival, and can’t wait to visit in person after the pandemic is over.
