Director Biography - Chinh Mai

Chinh is the director and creator of Lamppost, a CG animated short film. Chinh was born and raised in Vietnam. He moved to the U.S. in 2015 to pursue an education in Art. Chinh received his B.F.A in Animation at Cal State Long Beach in May 2021.

Director Statement

Lamppost is not only a story about the relationship between a father and his son, but rather an appreciation to the older generations. They are really the lampposts, the enlighteners who brought light to this world in difficult times. Thanks to those hard works, younger generations are capable of spreading the light even stronger and farther.
