Director Biography - Andy Espinoza

Andy's passion for filmmaking began with stop motion films and hand-drawn animations. His film career would begin in high school, where he would learn to write scripts and create VFX for school video productions.

In recent years, Andy wrote and directed "Dissonance" and "Lamentation", two films that pit characters against their desires and emotions in an artistic fashion.

Currently, Andy is majoring in Film Studies at Shenandoah University. In his free time, he works as a freelance editor/VFX artist.

Director Statement

Lamentation is a story about self-discovery, relationships, and masculinity explored through a psychological lens in an artistically deliberate way. Whether you’re in for the music, the visuals, or a story about two men and their emotions, there is something to take away from this film.
