Lakes and Puddles

The narrative starts with a glimpse of Kavan, a high school boy getting unempathetically rebuked by his father which plunges the audience into the traumatized space that the protagonist is constantly going through. One morning, an argument between his parents turns violent and he gets accidentally hurt; however, his actions reflect the appeasement that he has come up with in spite of utter ignorance of his parents towards him. Shattered, Kavan leaves the home to find some bliss in his solitude. Eventually, while loitering aimlessly near the neighborhood an encounter with a lively ten year old slum girl, Sejal, takes place in the middle of her play with a paper boat. Conversations carry them to a comfortable space where they exchange their views on life; which abruptly gets discontinued by a fight between Sejal's parents. Quintessentially, this event throws Kavan to the similar platform which he is very much acquainted to. He gets intrigued by Sejal's way of reciprocating and protecting herself from being influenced. The following day, Kavan comes over again and these two souls get engrossed in talks. As Kavan ventilates his anguish towards his parents, it is Sejal who facilitates his thinking through a different perspective.

Gratified and hopeful, Kavan returns to the same place with a small present to convey his thankfulness to Sejal. Unfortunately, what he gets back is a shock looking at the vandalized shelter of Sejal's family. However, Kavan recalls the learnings with her and returns to his everyday life empowered by Sejal's visions and approaches to make his own life better.
