The project is a journey, that of a boy who leaves just of age towards a new continent, a spiritual path that will lead him to the realization of himself. Travel as a necessary element to grow, overcoming the obstacles that you encounter along the way.

This is a traveling documentary, which tells from Brazilian childhood and the first football kicks, to the scenario of provincial football, made up of small stadiums and fields in muddy earth. Here, they still play for the fans, who follow their team for the love of their land and city. Playing in the lower categories denies the possibility of winning international trophies and cups but brings you closer to the sport that made us fall in love as children, increasingly distant from modern football, which in recent years has become an industry even before a passion.

A journey is made up of challenges. Some of them we can face with the means already in our possession, on other occasions we need a figure to guide us. You need to nourish body and spirit to be able to pursue a goal. And once reached, set another one.

Finally, as in any journey, you arrive in a place where the soul tells you to stay longer. The reasons why we manage to feel at home in places unknown to us are not well known. Perhaps the empathy that is created with the people we meet and seeing our family feel good. Something inside us tells us to stop. At least for a while, at least until the next challenge.

Il progetto è un viaggio, quello di un ragazzo che parte appena maggiorenne verso un nuovo continente, un percorso spirituale che lo porterà alla realizzazione di se stesso. Il viaggio come elemento necessario per crescere, superando gli ostacoli che lungo il cammino s’incontrano.

Si tratta di un documentario itinerante, che racconta dall’infanzia brasiliana e i primi calci al pallone, allo scenario del calcio di provincia, fatto di piccoli stadi e campi in terra fangosa. Qui, si gioca ancora per i tifosi, che seguono la propria squadra per amore della propria terra e città. Giocare nelle categorie inferiori nega la possibilità di vincere trofei e coppe internazionali ma ti avvicina a quello sport che ci ha fatto innamorare da piccoli, sempre più distante dal calcio moderno, diventato negli ultimi anni un’industria ancor prima che una passione.

Un viaggio è fatto di sfide. Alcune di esse le possiamo affrontare con i mezzi già in nostro possesso, in altre occasioni abbiamo bisogno di una figura che ci guidi. Bisogna nutrire corpo e spirito per poter inseguire un traguardo. E una volta raggiunto, prefissarne un altro.

Infine, come in ogni viaggio si arriva in un luogo dove l’anima ti dice di restare più a lungo. Non si conoscono bene le ragioni per le quali riusciamo a sentirci a casa in posti a noi sconosciuti. Forse l’empatia che si crea con le persone che incontriamo e vedere la nostra famiglia stare bene. Qualcosa dentro di noi ci dice di fermarci. Almeno per un po’, almeno fino alla prossima sfida.
