Lars Odermatt (born 2002, Switzerland) is a filmmaker passionate about exploring philosophical and political themes within human relationships and our connection to nature. Focusing on editing and sound design, he strives to create immersive worlds that spark imagination and inspire self-reflection. Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Film at Zurich University of the Arts, he is set to graduate in 2026.
Working on the story of my Swedish grandmother has profoundly shaped me, raising important questions about home, love, and integration – especially in light of today’s social and political shifts. From shooting in early 2023 to now releasing it, this film has brought us closer together, but most importantly, it allowed my grandmother to speak to someone who genuinely wanted to listen, which is the first step toward making someone feel like they truly belong.
