Lady Shaman

Lee, Sun-ho, the folklorist studying shamanism, is trying to get a professor position at one of the private universities in Seoul. After his third rejection from the university, he leaves for Jeju Island to look for a new subject for his research studies. In Jeju, he meets Ahn, Hae-ri, a young and beautiful lady shaman who is as highly respected as the national intangible cultural asset. To get Hae-ri’s permission to study her rituals, Sun-ho becomes one of her So-mi, an assistant, at MoYoung-ri Shrine and they become close. On the night of the funerary ritual to comfort the spirit of a girl who drowned, Hae-ri gets possessed by the spirit and seduces Sun-ho and they make love. Soon after Sun-ho moves in with Hae-ri, the other So-mi, Kye-suk and Mi-young leave Hae-ri. Sun-ho starts having doubts about Hae-ri when professor Yun, who suggested Sun-ho to become so-mi for Hae-ri to get close to her, tells Sun-ho that she may not be the spiritual successor of MoYoung-ri Shrine. Sun-ho finally decides to write his research paper to reveal Hae-ri’s secret, only to get a professorship.
