Lady Parts

Based on writer & executive producer Bonnie Gross’s true story, Lady Parts is a dramedy feature film where a young woman’s sex life becomes a family affair when she has to undergo a vulvar vestibulectomy. Her loving, but overbearing parents help her through recovery (despite her cringing) and learn that saying “vagina” loud and proud is the first step to advocating for herself in all aspects of her life.

Director Biography - Nancy Boyd

Bonnie Gross (Executive Producer & Writer of Lady Parts) is an award winning comedy writer and producer with a passion for telling stories around vaginal health care and sexuality. Originally from Philadelphia but now a New York transplant, she earned her Bachelor’s in Media Production from the University of Alabama and completed the UCLA Professional Program for TV Comedy Writing in 2018. Bonnie recently won the Special Jury Award for Screenwriting at the Florida Film Festival as well as the Jury Award for Best Comedy Feature for her most recent film, Lady Parts, based on her own journey navigating the vaginal health care world.

She has worked in post-production for several years on numerous television shows and features at Encore Hollywood and Light Iron. Also, she has written, produced, and edited comedy videos for the media brand, “It’s a Southern Thing,” as well as her own comedy videos on social media. She hopes to translate her vast production experiences into making female health content that can raise awareness on some of the many vaginal health issues people face. Even if one person feels seen then she has done her job.

Nancy Boyd (Director for Lady Parts) is a filmmaker with an affinity for lighthearted stories that handle the big things in life through laughter and connection. Her roots are in Michigan, where she attended Madonna University and earned a bachelor degree in Music, a bachelor degree in Broadcast & Cinema Arts, and directed her first feature film: Married on a Monday.

She moved to LA and is currently an MFA candidate at USC for Film and Television Production where she produced The More We Get Together, which was internationally recognized by Film Festivals. Nancy continues to do freelance work and produced a short that won iStocks One Minute Film Competition sponsored by Getty Images and directed the music video for Megan Winsor’s Generations. She is so excited to tell this story and help break the stigma around vaginal health.
